Chin Augmentation
A chin augmentation is performed
to reshape, resize, or enhance the chin. It is normally done to balance
the face, by extending the chin in relationship to the nose. Changes to
correct the patient's bite problems can also be done at the same time
as a chin augmentation procedure. Potential candidates for this procedure
may be those with weak or receding chins, but with a normal dental bite.
This procedure can be performed at the time of a nose job to help balance
the facial proportions. Your surgeon will provide these types of suggestions
during your initial assessment and consultation.
